Why is it important to eat well and travel often? I am sure you have heard the saying, “you are what you eat” originally stated by Brillat-Savarin and then later Feuerbach; with the understanding that the “food one eats has a bearing on one’s state of mind and health.” I happen to agree, choosing to eat organic, mostly fruits and vegetables as well as dairy-free and gluten-free has made all the difference in my life. This is why I choose to focus on healthy options while traveling and you will find that I will comment on the availability of healthy food on my journeys. I do this to encourage you also to “eat well.”
For some it’s a debate, “nature or nurture?” For me, there is no question it is both nature and nurture. We are emotional beings. We also have a certain DNA code which helps determine much of our health and even personality. Some believe in horoscopes, whether it be Chinese Astrology or not, our date of birth influences us. Then there’s our sub-culture, the family to whom we are born, the region in the world, the people who we are surrounded by. It all forms us, at least that’s what I believe, but then, I am not the only one. It is so important for our personal development, that we may understand other cultures through experience and broaden our perspective. So please make sure that you and your children, “travel often.”
